Bayberry, Inc. was established in 1979 by the Family Resource Development Agency. The founders, some of whom still serve on the board of directors, were parents and family members of individuals with developmental disabilities. John Shea, Nadine Shea, and Iris Cloudt intended to create a safe and active living arrangement that would help their loved one live as independently as possible by encouraging participation in community life. Bayberry remains dedicated to families and welcomes collaborative efforts in the best interest of the person receiving services.
Bayberry provides supported living and residential services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Lake, Napa, Solano, and Sonoma Counties. The State of CA contracts with the Department of Developmental Services (Sacramento) who then contracts with 21 Regional Centers statewide. North Bay Regional Center and Redwood Coast Regional Center vendor Bayberry, Inc. to provide Supported Living Services and Residential Services in Napa, Solano, Sonoma, and Lake Counties. Bayberry is also funded by Medi-Cal.
Bayberry is continually striving to meet a standard of excellence in service to our clients. Program planning is geared towards achieving an individual's preferred future. This process is guided by the individual, with the help of his or her family and planning team, pursuant to the Lanterman Act (Welfare and Institutions Code).
